Timing…

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:55 pm by becker25

I received a phone call yesterday from our adoption agency (CHSFS) asking if we would like to attend the PAC classes next week.

Because they usually invite you 3 weeks ahead of time, I assume that we were invited because others may not have been able to attend.

Of course we can’t go.

With this strike going on at work for Brian there is no way he would be able to take 4 nights off.

I’m bummed.

But like Brian said – there is a reason and time for everything – and our time is not this month.

Plumpinut UPDATE!

Well, the Plumpinut fund raising is over…and I have raised $500.00

I am actually quite proud of this…and not for the reason you might think.

This total is coming from two other people and Brian & myself.

Two.

These two individuals/couples found it in their heart to donate to this wonderful cause and I am truly blessed, honored and amazed.  Even now, as I look at the checks that I will be submitting on Sunday it really feels like they sent me the biggest hugs of encouragement…for our adoption and for our love of the land our daughter will come from…and I am so happy and overjoyed to be sending that encouragement on to the children in Africa.

To both of you (and you know who you are) – Thank you Thank you Thank you.

I love you and I’m so grateful to call you family!

**Stay tuned – I will update on Sunday how much our group raised as a whole!

The good and the bad…

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:40 pm by becker25

So, today I have been up since about 4 a.m.

Lately my boys (who shared a room) have been ‘going’ to bed at their regular time (8pm) but have been staying up until sometimes after 9pm talking and laughing, goofing off and keeping each other awake.  Now I remember doing this with my sister when we were younger, however she (being the younger sis) was not 21 months old.  Nicholas gets super emotional and very dramatic when he is tired (which has been happening a lot lately) and Nathan is just a supreme crank.  That, and they are waking me up ALL NIGHT LONG!

Last night – for one example – I went to bed at 10.  Nick woke me up at 2.  Nate woke me up at 4.  Then Nick was back up at 4:40 (and when I told him to go back to bed he proceeded to throw himself on his brothers bed – while Nate was sleeping!).  My “alarm” (ha!) then went off at 5:40.  So, if you think that I actually had enough time to relax and fall back asleep…well, I didn’t.

So…

Tonight they are in separate bedrooms again.

Brian got home from work this morning at about 7:15 and we promptly cleared out the toy room and moved Nates bed in.  Toys were then piled up in the living room, but I didn’t care.  I had had enough.

And let me just tell you…it might be a bit pre-mature (we will see how tonight goes), but as of right now – it is working!

After supper, I was cleaning up and re-organizing toys (which the boys loved because they were finding ‘lost’ toys), and then it was bed at 8.

After checking on them at 8:20 – Nathan is already asleep and Nick was half way there!

Woohoo!
