Yesterday the boys and I had SUCH a great day!  I really don’t think it could have gotten any better…for myself, or for them…unless Brian could have enjoyed it with us.

We started off the day – early – as always…with me looking our house in shambles (weeks worth of laundry, piles of dishes, piles on counters, etc. etc.) thinking that I should really get my act together and clean up.  I relayed this to Brian when he got home and my wonderful husband responded “Oh, just leave it.  It can wait.”

Now, for those of you that know Brian you would wonder (as I did) ‘Who is this man who says – leave the mess…don’t worry about it.  Surely this is not Mr. B!’  But it was…so I promptly followed his advice and took the boys shopping.

Haha!

We had a great time at the mall…the boys got to play in the center, smushy toy, climb on, whatever you call it (?) thing and I, while not purchasing anything wonderful or extravagant (toothpaste and deodorant?) got to be among the people.  Loved it!

When we got home at about 1…Brian was of course still sleeping, and it was so smokin’ hot out, that Nick and I filled up the pool and had a ton of backyard water fun. 

How awesome it was to have my little big man look at me with a beautiful, mischievous grin and say “I’m gonna get you wet Mom!” and (to my actual disbelief) proceed to throw a cup full of water on me!  Game on Mr. and this mommas gonna get the hose!  We had a blast!!  And let me tell you, that boy doesn’t ever get tired!  We stayed outside until almost 5 o’clock!
