I can’t believe how long it has been since I last bosted on our blog…shame on me!  So much has happened…lets see…

 Well, a couple of weeks ago, Brian brought Nathan in for his 6mo checkup (which actually took place when he was 7mo bc of scheduling conflicts w/ his dr – whole other story there).  He had been kind of fussy so Brian talked to her about it possibly being an ear infection or was he just getting more teeth.  She x-nayed the ears, said it was probably the teeth, gave him his shots and sent him on his way.  Needless to say, our nights kept getting worse with us having to wake up several times a night with Nathan.  Nate wasn’t happy and neither were we.  So, one week later (it happened to be that he wasn’t keeping his formula down and I had to take him in) low and behold, he has a double ear infection.  I was so shocked that told her that a week before his regular dr. had told us nothing was wrong with his ears.  To prove it to me she let me look through her little thingy-medical-tool-whatever-its-called and sure enough, both ear drums are bright red!  My poor baby!!  Here we didn’t know what his deal was at night, and he was just trying to tell us how much he hurt!  We never were sure that he wasn’t feeling well before that though, because up until then he has never been consistent about sleeping through the night!  So, we are on meds now, and he is so much happier…and sleeping through the night.  Mom and Dad are much happier too. =)

 Nick has been getting so much better about going to daycare…he actually looks forward to it now saying “Are we ready to go?!  Let’s go to Tinas!”  Which makes me really happy to know that he likes it so much there!  We are having a bit of a problem though with the tantrums!  I think it is just his age, but if he doesn’t get what he wants, all reasoning and using his words goes right out the window and he is throwing a hissy fit!  Ahh – trying!

Funny thing though…both of our boys are completely happy doing one of two things…going outside, or taking a bath and splashing in the water – what wonderful cure-alls!

We had quite a vacation this past week…  On Tuesday, July 3d we traveled up to MN to see the Beckers, then went from there to Baldwin to see the Van Someren’s, and back to MN to stay with the Beckers again and then home from there.  It was so much fun (fun with family, good food, GREAT fireworks!), but  quite draining!  I miss all the family already, and yet it is nice to get back to normal.
