Niabi Zoo 

Cute Nick saying:  We were at the zoo today and Nick asked me if we could ‘Go thisa way?’ to look at the buffalo (we were about 15 ft from the their gate).  “Sure” I told him, “Go ahead.”   He replied, “Come on mommy.  You can do it.” letting me know that he had no intention of going without me.  Laughing, I said, “OK Nick, I’m coming” to which he replied “Yeah!  Way to go mommy!  You did it!”  Hahaha that boy makes me smile!

We have been working on introducing potty time to Nicks world for the last 3 months and today (woohoo) he says to us “Time to go potty?” Heck yeah!!  He sat on his potty chair in the living room and in the course of watching two Backyardigans shows, he was successful!  We are so proud =)

This afternoon we went to the park to play, feed the ducks and go down all of the slides.  Nick had a great time, and of course Nathan just loves watching Nick do anything.  We were surprised to see they were also having bike races in the park…it was amazing to see all of these bikers race past and to feel the breeze that followed them.  They were going so fast!!  Later, while we were walking down one of the park paths a woodchuck crossed right in front of us.  We pointed it out to Nick telling him what the animal was called, and to that he replied, “I’ll catch him!”.  What fearlessness!

Welcome to the Becker blog… =)  I started this because I really want to write down and remember all of the cute, wonderful and amazing things that my children are saying and doing; and I also want to be able to share that with our families that can’t see them every day.  So to Nicholas and Nathan, my little loves, this is for you; and for the Beckers and Van Somerens – Welcome to our life! =)
